THE PROJECT OF OUR FACULTY MEMBER, DR. BİRCAN TAŞKIRAN, HAS BEEN AWARDED SUPPORT UNDER THE TÜBİTAK 3501 CAREER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM.

A project titled “Analysis of Chestnut (Castanea sativa Mill.) Genetic Resources through Next-Generation Sequencing: Genome-Wide Determination of Genetic Diversity and Local Adaptation” , in which Dr. Bircan Taşkıran , one of our faculty members, serves as a researcher, has been selected for funding under the TÜBİTAK 3501 Career Development Program . Within the scope of the project, chestnut gene conservation forests located in different ecological regions across Türkiye will be analyzed using genomic-based approaches supported by next-generation high-throughput sequencing (NGS) technology . The project aims to uncover local adaptation mechanisms by examining the relationship between genetic diversity and environmental variables at the genomic level. I AM LEARNING ABOUT NATURE (TÜBİTAK 4008 SUPPORT PROGRAM FOR INCLUSIVE SOCIETY APPLICATIONS FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS)

THE ORIENTATION PROGRAM FOR OUR FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS WAS HELD ON 24.09.2025.

The opening speech of the 2025-2026 Academic Year Orientation Program for our students was delivered by our Faculty Dean, Prof. Dr. Faruk KARAASLAN. Within the scope of the program, valuable information was provided on topics designed to facilitate students’ adaptation to the university and their departments, including an introduction to the university and the department, the e-campus system, websites, educational processes, school regulations and disciplinary rules, ERASMUS opportunities, and a video presentation on combating addiction. The orientation program was concluded with the implementation of an evaluation survey. We would like to once again welcome all our students to their departments and wish them success on this journey we will walk together.
